The Super Eight in Eighty-Eight

This year, the Student Government and
it's Fully Funded Units will not be working as
totally separate entities, but as one co-working
and inseparable unit.
Student Government and the unitsJ it fully
supports will be working together to accomplish
the goals that the units, as individual organiza-tions,
could not The "Super Eight in Eighty-
Eight" are:
Student Goverament Association
The governing body of the students. Funds
all the following units and is initiating the
"Super Eight in Eighty-Eight" program.
Campus Activities Board
Plans and runs most of the student activi-ties
on campus, including movies, con-certs,
comedians, and lecturers.
The Islander
The Farmingdale student published and
organized yearbook. Due for publication in
May.
Inter Dormitory Council
This unit represents the dorm population
in Student Government and plans many
Dormitory Activities.
WCTF Radio
College student run radio station.
Backstage Theatre Company
Students theatrical organization which
runs two performances a year.
Athletics
Intercollegiate, intramurals, and booster
club athletic events are run by this unit.
The Rambler Newspaper
What you're holding now.
These eight units comprise the majority
of where your Student Activity Fee goes (later
issues of the Rambler will have articles describ-ing
exactly how that money is distributed and
who decides).
With the "Super Eight in Eighty-Eight",
this year is going to be one of the most exciting
and productive yet. But we still need help. Every-one
of the aforementioned units are looking for
assistance. For more information on the meeting
times and places of these unit, see the center-spread
of this issue. They're your activities, take
advantage of them.
Do You Want To Grow Up?
There should be plenty of career choices available to ambitious teens, a
survey of TDK Electronics Corp. discovered.
A survey of 1,900 teenagers revealed that 16 percent want to be doctors
when they grow up. Thirteen percent reported they want to be lawyers.
But a whopping 63 percent said " I don't want to grow up."
