A Message from the SGA President
J/m Sullivan welcomes incoming students to SUNY Formingdole
Dear Fellow Students:
I have been asked to prepare this letter on
behalf of myself and the Student Government
Association and I am happy to do so. I sincerely
hope your summer was both prosperous and a
great deal of fun. It is now, however the time to
begin the serious pursuit of your educational
goals as a student on our campus.
A large part of your education will be
effected by your panicipation and the involve-ment
in our campus' extra and co-curricular
programs. The Student Government Associa-tion,
Fully Funded Units, (Campus Activities
Board, Islander Yearbook, Rambler Newspaper,
Backstage Theatre Company, W.T.C.F. Radio
Station, Inter-Dormitory Council and Athletics)
along with the clubs and organizations need your
help and assistance to be successful. If we are
successful in providing you services and pro-grams,
then you will have a much better experi-ence
during you time at Farmingdale.
As your President, I have been working
during the summer on both campus' Orientation
as a Student Orientation Leader and developing
new programs and services, which with your
help, I'm quite sure will make a tremendous
difference. Some of the programs are: the Ram's
Den Renovation, which will be completed during
the Fall Semester, a review and rewrite of the
Student Government Association Constitution,
the possibility of securing the appropriate li-censes
for video tape viewing in the campus'
residence hall lounges, the use of a room in
Roosevelt Hall as a computer and typewriting
facility for students, and providing the funding
for a high quality program of the classical per-

forming arts.
If you are serious about your success as a
student, then you will participate in our Student
Government Association, Fully Funded Units or
our Clubs/Organizations. I look forward to
meeting you and would like to remind you that
we can't do this without you. Please help and get
involved.
