THE RAMBLER
LONG ISLAND AGRICULTURAL AND TECHNICAL INSTITUTE
FARMINGDALE, L. L, N. Y.
Vol. XXV, No. 3 November 24, 1954
RAMBLER SPONSORS CONTEST TO SELECT
TALENTED CAMPUS QUEEN
FLOATS
Although Homecoming Day was
dreary and uninspiring, the floats,
which were viewed by the few who
stuck it out, were precisely op-posite.
The Cattle Club, whose float
depicted "Old MacDonald's Farm,"
was original and cleverly done,
and won first prize. The runners-up
were the N. A. G. float, their
theme was "Three Coins in A
Fountain", and very beautiful;
and, last but not least, was the
Poultry Club, whose entire float
was a chicken, and very original.
INSTITUTE BOWLING
LEAGUE
SUCCESS
The faculty and staff have com-bined
to operate a very fine bowling
league. At the conclusion of nine
weeks of bowling the standing of
the first three teams is as follows:
Points
Gophers—Lamb, Hraba, Coogan
Allee 28
Headpins—Mitchell, Smith, Floyd,
Abbatiello 27
Hookers — Perry, Harty, Gian-fagna,
Rakowski 26
High Single Game—245—Stark
High Triple—562—Coogan
High Average—167—Coogan
This is an 80 percent handicap
league against 170 possible.
The teams roll Thursday nights,
9:00-11:00 P. M. at May wood Rec-reation
Alleys. Many of the men
have purchased special shirts and
we look forward to having the
entire league so equipped.
We have a lot of fun.

Our Annual Blood Drive, which
took place Wednesday, November
10th, was a huge success.
Two hundred and seventy-six
persons came to donate a pint of
blood. Of these, two hundred and
seventy-six donors, seventy-six were
turned away for such reasons as:
colds, anemia, high or low blood
pressure, etc.
In our Blood Bank we have
about one hundred new pints of
blood, although we collected two
hundred pints. The reason for this
is that the National Blood Bank,
which must process all the blood
we collect, keeps one pint of blood
for every two they process.
We would like to thank the cam-pus
and faculty wives, who donated
refreshments.
