WELCOME TO
FARMINGDALE
I would like to extend a
sincere welcome to the
Freshman Class on behalf of
the entire Campus Commun-ity.
A college education is a
multi-faceted experience. Of
course there is the academic
achievements, the constant
studying in order to fulfill a
career in your chosen field.
Farmini^ale will also off^er
you new camaraderies,

The two years here can be the
most memorable ones in your
life and the college staff will do
everything possible to help you
to achieve your objectives,
up to you to lake advantage of
the many opportunities that are
available for your growth.
Farmingdale graduate have
achieved a great deal of su cess
in many fields of endeav >r. I
know that the potential for all
of you to be successful is very
high. The college has developed
an outstanding reputation for
excellence in technical careers.
Employers seek our graduates
and regularly recruit on
campus. Get to know your
faculty members and be
involved in your curriculum. In
addition find out what services
are available to help' you
outside of your curriculum.
You are assigned a counselor,
who has an office on the main
floor in Laffin Hall. Tutors are
available. We have learning
resources in the Library. Take
advantage of all the support
that is provided to help you to
become successful.
Another important aspect of
your college experience is the
social life on campus. There are
many activities provided for
your enjoyment and personal
growth. It is essential to
understand that all of the
aspects of the Student Activity
Program, run out of Roosevelt
Hall, are designed to enhance
your development and
s u p p l e m e n t c l a s s r o om
learning. Learning how to get
along with people and
accepting responsibility are
important facets of a college
education. The College Un'on
Program provides many
exciting worthwhile exper-iences
for personal growth. Get
involved! You will not only
enjoy your college days more
but you will also be more
successful. Involved people,
caring people, committed
people, busy people are more in
demand and become the
leaders in their field. Why not
work to become one of those
leaders?
