The Farmingdale Board of
Education recently announced
the list of board committee appointments
which were delayed
during the annual reorganiza-tional
meeting on July 6.
Also named were board
members who will serve as
building liaison between the
board and the various schools in
the district.
The board's . committee appointments

The Fairchild Republic
Company, a division of Fairchild
Industries, and the International
Association of Machinists and
Aerospace Workers Sunday
settled upon a new three- year
contract agreement, extending to
July 15, 1979.
The agreement, which had
been under negotiations since
mid- May, was approved by vote
of the members of Republic
Lodge 1987.
The agreement provides for an
average wage increase of 65
cents an hour by grade over the
three year period - 22 to 30 cento
per hour by grade the first year,

Ask Residents
To Petition
Fire Hearing
A number of residents of the
Village of Farmingdale have
gotten together to object to the
Village board's proposal to
disband the current emergency
dispatching system at the Fire
Department headquarters and
turn over the responsibility to
Nassau County Fire Comm. in
• Mineola, it was revealed in a
news release to the Post this
week.
A petition was circulated
several weeks ago and many
residents signed it. On June 28 the
petition was presented to the
Village Board of Trustees along
with the reasons not to give the
responsibility of emergency
dispatching to " Fire Comm" in
Mineola.

the residents of Farmingdale
Village are requesting a formal
public hearing as soon as
possible."
The request sent to the Post
contained a petition form for
village residents to fill out and
sign to request such a public
hearing.
Village residents desiring such
a hearing, may submit the
following form to the village
trustees: " I ( name) of ( address)
do hereby petition the Board of
Trustees of the Incorporated
Village of Farmingdale to hold a
public hearing as soon as possible
regarding the decision to disband
the emergency dispatching
system currently in use at the
Farmingdale Fire Department
Headquarters." The resident's
signature must be included and
additional comments may be
added.
Petitions should be mailed to
Village Hall, 361 Main Street,
Farmingdale, N. Y. 11735.
Two Arrested
For Burglary
Two Levittown men were
arrested early last Friday
morning by Eighth Squad
detectives and charged with the
burglary of a Farmingdale home
earlier the previous evening.
Police said Detective A.
Sorrentino arrested Ralph
Dadichio, 19, of Levittown and
charged him with 2nd degree
burglary, 2nd degree assault on a
police officer and resisting arrest
at his home.
Also arrested was Thomas
Robey, 34, also of Levittown. He
