Water District Fighting Qilorination
Users Questionnaire
Will Help Get Waiver
the South Farmingdale Water District is working to
obtain a required annual waiver to avoid the State
Health Department's ruling for all public water supply
throughout the state to be chlorinated. To help obtain
the waiver to avoid chlorination, the water district has
sent out a questionnaire to all water users and needs
public response to maintain good quality and good
tasting water.

" Anything Goes" In Green Room
For a great many weeks over
50 Farmingdale students have
spent nearly 400 hours in
rehearsal and preparation for
this year's fall musical: Cole
Porter's " Anything Goes"
This nostalgic, lively musical
show could possibly be the most
popular of the many hits the
Green Room Players have
produced because it has so much
entertainment to offer. There is
much exciting tap- dancing,
something which no other Farmingdale
musical has had to
date. These dances are part of the
many vibrant, bouncy production
numbers.
" Anything Goes" concerns all
of the passengers sailing on the
liner S. S. American on a cruse
from New York to London. On the
ship is Reno Sweeney ( Addie
Daddio), a nightclub singer who
used to be a traveling evangelist.
She meets her best friend Billy
Crocker ( Jeff White), a " broken
down broker" from New York.
He is in love with Hope Harcourt
( Diana Kollar), but she is
engaged to an English gentleman,
Sir Evelyn Oakleigh
( Martin Schaefer), and is being
forced to marry him by her
mother, who' is played by Nancy
Pines.
As if that weren't complicated
enough, Moonface Martin, public
enemy number 13, and his gun
moll, are sailing in order to
escape from the authorities.
' Moonface is played by Rob
Bartlett, and Bonnie, Lori
Tallman. Moonface befriends
Billy and together with Reno try
to stop the marriage between
Hope and Evelyn. The results are
hilarious.
There is along the way, a huge
collection of some of the greatest
Cole Porter hits ever written.
They range from melodiously
romantic, to comic, to show
stopping loud chorus numbers.
Some of these include: " You're
The Top," " I Get A Kick Out Of
You," " Friendship," " Blow
Gabriel Blow," " All Through The
Night," and of course the title
number " Anything Goes."
Kenneth Ulric is directing
" Anything Goes." He, in the past
years has directed three of the
most popular Green Room
Players productions: " Hello
Dolly," " Mame," and " South
Pacific."
" Anything Goes," ten piece pit
band is under the direction of
Richard Johannsen.
The colorful set, designed by
Ulric features the deck of the S. S.
American. A diligent crew of
about 20 students has been
working on the set and lighting.
Senior Bob DeMicco is assistant
director and stage manager for
the show. Lori Tallman is
choreographer.
In short, " Anything Goes"
promises to be a bouncy, vibrant
hilarious musical. It will be the
greatest entertainment seen in
years. Tickets are on sale now at
$ 2.50 for adults and $ 1.50 for
students. Group reservations
may call 240- 7600 x365 for details.
Decision On
Sex Supplement
Brooklyn Federal Court Judge
Mark Costantino reserved
decision last Thursday on the suit
brought by two Farmingdale
High School students, asking that
they be allowed to distribute
copies of the October 25 " Paper
Lion" which were confiscated by
Principal John McLennan.
In arguments before Judge
Costantino, the attorney for the
students said the confiscation of
the paper violated their First
Amendment rights of freedom of
speech and freedom of the press.
School officials claim the
supplement in the paper on
abortion, birth control and
contraceptives is in violation of
district policy on the teaching of
human sexuality.
Defendants in the suit are the
Superintendent of Schools, Dr.
William A. Kinzler, McLennan
and the Board of Education. A
ruling js expected from the court
next week.

Under present policy of the
district, bacteriological samples
are taken each week at
representative points throughout
the South Farmingdale Water
District and analyzed by
engineers in their state approved
water testing laboratory. This
affords double protection of
testing by both the water
district's engineers and the
Nassau County Health Department.
For more than a decade, the
district has had standby
chlorination equipment. If, due
to tapping, water main extensions,
etc., the bacteriological
quality of the water is
questionable, the standby
equipment springs into action the
same day to bring the district's
water quality back to its normal
zero positive sample status.
Despite a near perfect record,
the district must still obtain an
