World Childrens Day Set
Arrangements are being completed for the sixth annual
Farmingdale World Children's Day to be held on Sunday, February
16 when children of District # 22 schools and religious
institutions will join in a collection of small coins to benefit
the UN1CEF Nigeria/ Biafra fund. At 4 p. m. the children
will return the collection containers to the cafeteria of the
East Building of Weldon E. Howitt and be greeted with r e freshments
and an international program of dances by the
St. Kilian CYO Talent troupe.
The refreshments will be served by the Main Street Neighborhood
Girl Scouts and St. Lukes Lutheran Women, Methodist
Women's Society, Women of the Hollywood Baptist
Church of Amityville, the Sisterhood of Farmingdale Jewish
Center and St. Kilian's Mothers Club, Junior League and the
Women's Club of Farmingdale.
The program of the CYO Troupe under the direction of
Ernest J. Lambeth will include: the Carty family Irish Step
Dancers, Tom Romano playing Italian tunes on the accordian,
Kevin Riou doing an African Jazz Dance and a quartet singing
Negro Spirituals consisting of Eileen Tempra, Kill Keeler,
Kim Bodomer and Ellen Pasternack. Diane Magnusson and
Debbie Woodford will play the guitar.
Last year the community donated $ 1,051.49 to the United
Nations Children's Fund. Mrs. Pat Schriro hopes that this
year, due to the emergency in Biafra, the donations will be
increased.
Town Appoints Regional Beautification Committees

Chairman of the Town of
Oyster Ba^ beautification committee
at ceremonies at Town
Hall Friday evening by New York
State Commissioner of Local
Government John Burns.

Ralph Diamond to look into ways
to beautify the Town.

Town Board.

Farmingdale and North Massapequa residents were busy
digging oui of one of the most crippling snow storms in Long-
Island history. The snow began to fall on Sunday at 9 a. m.
Typical of the drifts was Atlanta Avenue, North Massapequa.
