SCHOOL BELLS
A staff of 780 teachers will greet 13,129 students when they students who will attend private or parochial schools. ( See

Former Presidential Press
Secretary Pierre Salinger will
speak on " The Kennedy Years —
and After" at the State University
Agricultural and Technical College
at Farmingdale on Thursday,
September 8.
Salinger, who has written a
new book, " With Kennedy", to
be published in September, will
speak in the Roosevelt Hall Little
Theatre at 11 a. m. The public
is invited to attend and there
wttl be no admission charge.

of the college's 1966- 67 Distinguished
Speakers Series which
will feature such personalities
as Mark Van Doren, Charles
( Red) Auerbach, and Alan Reit-man.
Expect 3,100 at SUATI
3,100 students are expected at ingdale with 1,967 of these in-the
State University Agricultural coming freshmen,
and Technical College at Farm-
Volunteers from the Farmingdale Fire Department fought a fire estimated
at $ 50,000 worth of damage at a three story unoccupied apartment
building at 130 Eastern Parkway on Monday afternoon. The building was
in the process of being renovated when the fire of an unknown origin was
discovered. 17 pieces of fire apparatus and 150 firemen from Farmingdale,
East Farmingdale and South Farmingdale responded. Three fire fighters
were treated for smoke inhalation and one was treated at Mid Island Hospital
for injuries sustained at the scene. The Village Fire Department also
summoned working firemen from Grumman and Republic Aviation plants.

left, President of the Farmingdale Interact Club,
wishes exchange student, Jeffrey Dow of 110 North
Drive, North Massapequa a " bon voyage** as he
holds the passport and visa that will take Jeffrey
to Belgium for a year of study. Jeffrey is one of
nine high school students from the Long Island
District of Rotary International who will be studying
overseas.
The Farmingdale Rotary Club sponsors its junior
counterpart, Interact, at the High School. Jeffrey,
a member of Interact, will be spending his junior
year in Huy, Belgium, hosted by the Huy Rotary
club.
