ROCKY VISITS HERE
Governor Nelson A. Rockefeller and his wife a dozen members of his staff visited Farmingdale ona nWd eadbnoeustviews
and opinions concerning State programs which have
day morning from 10 a. m. till noon. The Governor had invited
a number of Nassau and Suffolk County leaders in industry
and business to meet with him at the State University Agricultural
and Technical College at Farmingdale, to hear their

The Governor also met later in the day with members of
the Nassau Suffolk School Boards Association and later with
members of the press and news media at 6: 15 at the Garden
City Hotel.
ZIP Code To Be Same For Everyone In Farmingdale Expand P. 0. Window Service
As part of a nationwide program
to streamline the ZIP Code
Program Postmaster Leo J.
Morgan announced that effective
January 15 a single five digit
number will serve the entire
community of Farmingdale.
Everyone in Farmingdale, will
have the same ZIP Code number,
which is 11735.
Postmaster Morgan said
Farmingdale is one of 643 cities
in which two or more ZIP
Codes have been merged into a
single ZIP Code number in order
to simplify the system. Mail
users may continue to use their
old ZIP Code number on their
stationery and other printed
mailing equipment until the present
supply is exhausted.
" Business firms that have already
ZIP coded their files will
not be required to up date them,
but can make the transition to
the single code as they make
routine changes for other purposes.
Rabbi Teicher Installed As Jewish
Center Spiritual Head
Postmaster Leo J. Morgan announced
today that there will be
additional window service provided
this Saturday, December
11th and Saturday, December
18th, until 3: 00 p. m. instead of
12 noon. The additional window
service will be offered at the
Main Office and South Farming-dale
Branch.
Morgan also announced that
window service will be extended
on a Monday through Friday basis
from December 8 through 10
and December 13 through December
17 and December 20, 21 and
22, until 6: 00 p. m. instead of
5: 00 p. m.
The postmaster also encouraged
patrons to use the " local"
and " Out- of- Town" self-contact
straps for bundling up
Christmas mail which will expedite
the handling of mail.

ELECTION RESULTS
Religious and civic leaders
of the Farmingdale area, attended
the Service of Installation
for Rabbi Paul Teicher last Sun-day
afternoon at the Farming-dale
Jewish Center.
The main address was given
by Rabbi S. Joshua Kohn, Spiritual
Leader of Adath Israel,
Trenton, New Jersey. Other
speakers included Rabbi David
Schudrich, Temple Beth El
Patchogue; Rabbi David Traub
of New London, Conn., Rabbi Leon
Spielman, Beth Shalom Center,
Amityville; and Sol Nash,
President of the Jewish Center.
Under the director of Cantor
Herbert Harris, the center's
choir sang several inspiring
musical selections.
Among the guests were Pastor
and Mrs. Bernhardt Bohrer, St.
Lukes Lutheran Church; Pastor
Kenneth Hoover, Farmingdale
Methodist Church; Mayor Joseph
Zureck; Superintendent of
Schools William Kinzler and Mrs.
Kinzler; Mrs. John McCarthy
of the Farmingdale Public Library;
John McCarthy of Polytechnic
Institute of Brooklyn,
Graduate Center; Judge and
Mrs. Willis B. Carman; and from
the Farmingdale Village Board
of Trustees Willis B. Carman
Jr. and Mrs. Carman; and John
Hallahan and Mrs. Hallahan.
Members of the Centers Sisterhood
prepared and served refreshments
under the chairmanship
of Mrs. Sam Natansohn.

AHRC as the group, met to plan the Firemen's fourth annual
Christmas parly for retarded children to be held at the Main
Street Fire House on Saturday, December 18th at 12 noon. The
children will be rounded up and will be transferred to the party
in a fire engine. A magician, movies, refreshments and Santa Claus
will await the kiddles upon their arrival.
Mens Club members, led by Harry
Rothbard, served as ushers.

FIRST NAT'L CITY
BANK OPENS
PERMANENT OFFICE
First National City Bank today
opened its permanent branch
in Farmingdale at 250 Conklin
Street near Waverly Place. The
bank has operated temporary facilities
adjacent to the new branch
since January 24, 1964.
Invited to participate in the opening
ceremonies were: Michael
N. Petito, Supervisor of the Town
of Oyster Bay; Joseph Zureck,
Mayor of Farmingdale; William
Tarrant, vice president, Kimball
Systems; Ellsworth Allen, Commissioner
South Farmingdale
Water District; Supreme Court
Justice Howard T. Hogan; Con-gressmanjames
R. Grover; Char-les
W. Laffin, president of the
State University Agricultural and
Technical Institute; and other
town and village officials.
The bank has scheduled a
three- day open house to celebrate
the occasion. On Thursday and
Friday of this week, the branch
will be open from 9 a. m. to
9 p. m. and on Saturday, December
11, from 9 a. m. to 5 p. m.
There will be souvenirs for all
visitors and merchandise gifts
for depositors of $ 50 or more.
Heading the Farmingdale
branch is Manager Frank W. Sixt,
who also opened the temporary
branch in 1964. He has more
than 41 years banking experience
with First National City's
domestic branch system. Mr.
Sixt Is assisted by Herbert G.
Sprengel and David C. Powell,
assistant managers.
In the South Farmingdale Fire
District election on Tuesday, Joseph
Aversano polled 234 votes
to be reelected as Fire Commissioner
for a five year term
and James Holmes polled 217
votes to be reelected as Treasurer
for a three year ter n.
In South Farmingdale Water
District, incumbent Water Commissioner
Al Nasser tallied 324
votes. He ran unopposed.
Cadet First Class Oldrich Foucek of Farmingdale receiving
some flying pointers from Captain Stuart White, IBAF Liaison
Officer for the New York Wing Civil Air Patrol. Captain White
was the Senior Helicopter Advisor to the Vietnamese Air Force.
