REV. PALMER NEW
ST. THOMAS RECTOR
The Reverend Albert H. Palmer, former Rector
of St. Simon's Episcopal Church in Brooklyn, has
been selected by the Vestry of St. Thomas Episcopal
church as the new Rector. His acceptance
was received on Monday.
The Vestry accepted the resignation of Father
W. Robert Hampshire on November 2, 1964 and
immediately started looking for a new priest for
St. Thomas.
In accepting his new post, Father Palmer
stated that " It is with genuine pleasure that I
look forward to this ministry among the people
of St. Thomas Church. I pray for the guidance
of God and the Holy Ghost in this work and divine
grace to be a faithful priest and pastor to the
people. I ask your prayers and your support to
assist me in the performance of my duties."
Upon the receipt of Father Palmer's acceptance
the vestry mailed the certificate of election
to Bishop James P. DeWolfe.
Father Palmer is married and has two children
~ a daugjhter, Kathryn Mary, one and a half years
old and a son David who is three and a half.
