When the New York Fire Insurance Rating Organization
completes its inspection in Farmingdale,
during the next several days one of two things will
happen. The fire insurance rates will remain the
same, or the rates could drop on dwellings anywhere
from 13 to 20%, it was learned from an official source.
The inspections, which are being
held throughout the state have not
been held in Farmingdale for many
years. The thorough inspection of
Fire Hydrants, water volume, fire
fighting apparatus, the water storage
plant and the response to fires
within The Incorporated Village of
Farmingdale limits will have a
direct bearing on whether the Village
will retain its present ' B'
rating or will achieve the class
' A' rating that will cause the fire
insurance rate drop on individual
home units.
" There is no reason to believe
that we will not achieve the coved
* A'rating,' Village Clerk William
Wesche said. " As far as can be
determined, all indications point
to the receipt of such a notice
within the next five or six weeks.
