On Zoning Hearing
No Decision Expected
Before Thanksgiving;
All Aspects Weighed
Members of the Village Board are
studying testimony and briefs re-lating
to the proposal to amend the
Zoning Ordinance of the village to
permit the establishment of funeral
homes in Apartment House Dis-tricts.
No' decision on the issue is
expected untif after Thanksgiving.
This was the word given out aft
the Municipal Building this week,
10 days after the stoitmy hearing on
the matter that consumed nearly
four hours and brought out a
caipacity crowd on Saturday, Novem-ber

Mayor Robert L. Doxsee reported
that a brief had been received from
Walter J. A. Mack, Freeport Attor-ney
representing" Interests in favor
of the zoning change, ^and that Al-fred
T. Davison oTGfirden City, the
attorney representing interests op-posed
to the change, had sent a copy
.of his brief or memorandum to each
memlber of the Village Board.

checks totaling $603,700 to its 7,040
