through the efforts of the Freeport
Inter-Faith Olergy Council it was
decided to open the event to all
faiths and races. A group of men
calling themselves the Friends of

appeal for all Freeport residents, to
observe Thanksgiving Day by at-tending
the^ service, which reads:

13, in climaxing the football season of I960, and going through

Freeporters have pledged $44,-
751.07 toward the Sou Mi Nassau
Communities Hospital's $1,250,000
expansion campaign, Mrs. Gordon
F. Waaser, associate chairman for
the village, reported at a progress
meeting held r In the South Side
High School auditorium in Rock-ville
Centre, Thursday night. *Ex^
cept for Rockville Centre's $91,590-
.16, this was by far the largest am-ount
reported by any community.
The .grand total reported was
$383,670.00 an Increase of more
than $109,000 over the first report
meeting held on October 24 accord-jng.-
to- an - announcement-made by
Theodore J. Bourgungnon, .general
campaign chairman.
The hospital development pro-gram
will cost a minimum of $1,250,-
000 and will increase the bed capa-city
from 98 to. 207. This is the
first campaign the hospital has
conducted in 22 years. The Institu-tion
is a non-profit corporation
operated by a Board of directors
comprised of 48 representative
citizens who serve without pay. In
addition to this service each board
member must pay annual dues
which go to the charity fund. This
group has also pledged $100,000 as
its shaTe in the campaign and turn-ed
in amiost"$46iOOO to date,
The actual solicitation of funds
started only a few weeks ago and;
to date less than 20 per cent of the |
prospects have reported, according'
to Mr. Bourgulgnon. The campaign
leaders are optimistic ' since the re-ports
so far ait showing mare than

trlbutrng and that, the average gift

recently annexed to the Incorpor-ated
village Monday night led to
the announcement that the Nas-sau
Yacht Olub of Freeport had
contracted to buy a large plot of
ground In the aren for a club house

As the hearing opened, Mnyor
Robert L. Doxsce announced that
the property hnd been zoned as
Residence "B" by .the Town of
Hempstead. No such classification
is provided under the Munlcjpnl
Zoning Ordinance, he added. Sam-
