(Ofltcial item furniahed ts all lo¬ cal newipapera on Wedneaday at each vreek.)
The heavy rain Sunday showed to advantaffc thc puaaibility of Koodj wetk tar our Holdier gaeata, and all day the rooniH were well Ailed, and wfaik we cannot npeak personaUy at ttm noldiem' enjoyment, we know tlMt the duty mea had a pleaaant tline T.nth their visitom, and had thc aatiafaction too of greetini; a conKid- arable number of them.
The rejrular committee of ladiea had not yet been arranged for, bat the conunittee on accommodations tock charije of the work for that one week, and in the two niphts fed about 300 of thc fruests from Camp Milla. Saturday eveninfi: Mrs. J. M. Keegan waa in charKe, and Sunday evening Mrs. C. Dwight Bakor and Miss Ada Baker, assisted by ccmmlttces ?i'iect- ed by them. Of course Mr. and .Mrs. Hartmann helped. As Mi.>;n Baker remarked! "the work is easy with them belpinp;. I don't know what we would do without them." These splc.idid neighbors have sent their only lad away with a "God-speed" to help in the biK fiRht and are now devoting, _ thtir time to entertaininK other sons I'-J thodiat away frcm home. f^iv^copal
Our neiuhbors usually see that we ' ijct whnt wo need. Last week we were disCi>Fir.sr how to introduce our visitors to Headquarters and one of our dul ¦ . n, Supervisor Hiram R. Smith, o V ti'd to see Superintendent Stoddan of the trolley company, and request hiin to instruct his conduct¬ ors to tu!l at Brooklyn Avenue— "Brooklyn Avt'iina; .soldiers' hcad- goarter'." Thi;; will help a bii; lot. The r{Ui;?!t.ioTi of suitable Jii^ns has not yiit lji:,::i solved bec:ui f iho sifin miilc'-r,!; nro still too busy m atLenrl to our order.
Maga/inea Alwayh in l>cmand Current issues of majrui^ines are, always acceptable, th,' moro the bet-1 ter; but we cannot u^e bael< numbers' because wc have not thc room to store them. .
