ENTERTAINING OUR
SOLDIER BOYS
.Activities continue at the Army Headquarters at 13 Railroad Avenue. This is one of the big community in¬ terests that is worth while, if only to get us better acquainted with our neighbors, and in the pleasure of meeting, as we do, so many of the fine boys that .make up our splendid army.
F'rederick H. Plump is in charge this week, and like his predecessora, keeps something doing, starting with the placing of his flag on the wall the first night he took charge. He also knows how to make good coffee (so the soldiers say) and with some cake and sandwiches left by Mrs. Zulzer, supplemented by other donations, has made his guests doubly welcome.

VILLAGE TRUSTEES
All the members of the Board were present at the meeting last Thursday afternoon. With Village Clerk Shea back at his desk after his "vacation" resulting from his recent auto acci¬ dent.
H. E. Rider, reader of electric ligljt meters, was authorized to purchase a new bicycle.
It was decided to order a carload of gravel for reserve use on village streets.
Clerk Shea was directed to secure bids for the sidewalk on property on Grove Street, south of Merrick Soad, where the road grade was raised after the walk was laid.
Charles .A. Reitineyer, from the Plazji Theatre, appeared and asked the Board to place a light of possibly 400 or 500 candle power at the west end of his place. He said his patrons were losing autos ni(jht after night; he had tried the proposition of hav¬ ing a man wateh the cars, but with no results. If the Board would install the light and connect it to his meter, he would attend to its maintenance. The Board members expressed their opinions favorable to the petition, and asked Village Lineman Walling to advise them, at the next meeting, as to the cost, after consultation with Engineer William R. Smith.
A letter was read from the S. P. C. C, askinjr the Board to adopt a "Cur¬ few Law," requiring all girls to be off the streets after a certain hour at night. The Board was of the opinion that such an ordinance was unneces¬ sary and the petition was "laid on the table for future consideratioan if oc¬ casion arises.
.A resolution was passed that the Health Oflicer notify all persons sell¬ ing milk in the village limits to take out n r'il'-: permit within ten days, or oe liable to prosecution lor a misde¬ meanor.
