Dr. Walter Benzel of 105 West Sev¬ enty-fourth Street, Manhattan, report¬ ed to police headquarters Satarday night that his automobile had struck a man on East Merrick Road near the village line. Pr. Benzel said he had examined the man who was uncon¬ scious and had engaged a taxicab and sent the injured man to Nassau Hos¬ pital.
Subsequent investigation showed the man was John Combs, a painter, liv¬ ing on Eaat Merrick Road at Merrick. He was not seriously hart and returned home the next day.
