The body of Denis Cray was retiuiv- ed to New York for burial Friday af¬ ternoon. Mr. Cray was found dead ir. the cellar of a vacant house on Church .St., ill which he had formerly resided, Friday niorning, having quite evident¬ ly taken his own life from inhaling gas from an open main.
The Union Men's Meeting will be held in the M. E. Church at 4 p. in., every Sunday during the month of April. That Mrs. O. IL I'. litlnionL, one of the executive members of the Nas¬ sau Hospital, is to finance, to a consid¬ erable extent, the hosjiital jirojected for this village, has become assured. Mrs. Belmont, it is announced, has al¬ ready engaged the sujierintendent for the new institution, a nurse formerly connected with the sanitarium of the late Dr. Bull. Dr. L. N. Lanehart <if Hempstead is expected to occupy the position of chief surgeon at the new hospita'. Mrs. Belmont has been a staunch friend of Dr. Lanehart, and if is reported that she would be pleased to have him take the jiosition of chief of the new institution, concerning whoie atfairs she will have consider ably to say.

A meeting of the physicians surgeons interested will be held at house, on South Ocean Avenue, leased for the hospital, Saturday afternoon. Plans are under way by the women of Freeport and other jilaces to hold sev¬ eral events to raise funds for the new nstitution.

In the third and last series in bowl¬ ing between the h'roejiort and Amity¬ ville Clubs, rolled at Amityville on Fri¬ dav night, the local club lost, winning only one game out <if three. .As Ami¬ tyville had won the other two matches the victory of Friday night gives them the series by a wide margin.
