But little business was before the I Hoard of Village Trustees at the regu-i lar meeting Friday evening, vvhen all 1 the members were jiresent.

Bave, secretary ofthe Catholic Club of Freejiort, expressing ' regret that the Board had sent notice i that the application for permission for] parading the streets of the village I Sunday afternoon with a band, had I been denied "with the absence of the | courtesy of expressing the reason for .such refusal." The Clerk was direct-1 ed to reply that the Board had no in-1 tention of showing any discourtesy; that the application had been denied becau.se the Board, while not objecting Jiersonally, did not think it would be the right thing to establish such a jire- cedent as allowing band parades on the | Sabbath, especially as it might inter¬ fere with the sessions of .Sunday Schools of other denominations.
Chief Walter B. Cozzens rejiorted having recived an estimate of cost for the erection of a temiiorary engine house on the same style as the hose company houses, for the new engine when it arrives. Tax Collector E. A. Dorlon rejiorted' that since the last meeting of the 1 board he had collected $2,.'i47.40 of the taxes of the fiscal year, making the total collections to date, amounting to $ll,758..'i.'}. which amount he has turned over to Village Treasurer John E. Golding.
The following applications for water service were granted: G. Stone, Cen¬ tre Street; H. J. Raymore, Bayview Avenue; John W. Halliday, Smith Street; George E. Harrison, Long Beach Avenue, and William E. Loon¬ am, South Side Avenue.

The Treasurer was instructed to transfer temjxirarily .'Sl.HOO from the water to the water extension fund.
Trustee Frank H. Stevens com¬ plained that the new street lamps re¬ cently received and installed do not aji¬ pear to be of the reijuired candle pow¬ er. Electrician Harry A. Walling stated that the new lamps would give considerable additional light after they had been in u^e a short time, and the matter was laid over.
Alexander C. Ackerman complained that there are no street lights on Com¬ mercial and Shonnard Avenues, for a distance of over half a mile. He was assured that the matter will be given early consideration.
