Notwithstanding the banks are just coming out of the stringent itioney panic the Freeport Bank has declared a dividend of four per cent and also in¬ creased the surplus of the institution from $36,000 to $40,000. This bank is succeeding under its conservative and progressive management and the in¬ crease of its surplus fund is a good in¬ dication that the ofticers and directors are anxious to do all in their power to safeguard the interests of their depos¬ itors.

Charles Long,, who was arrested on June 28 for shooting crap, was allowed to go free Wednesday afternoon, after he had received an impressive lecture from Police Justice Swezey. Long had the dice when Captain Dunbar arrived and he ^was arrested for the crime while his companions were held as wit¬ nesses. Captain Dunbar stated that he wished to withdraw the com[)laint. as in this case the law does not allow the Justice to fine the jiarties if they plead or are found guilty, but he must place them under heavy boixl for the action of the County Court, and in the absence of the bond commit them to the Nassau County jail. He stated that he wished them all to take the matter as a warning, for if he cauhgt any of them again he would press the charge.—Times.

Dunbar -Rosenkranz Lillian Agnes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John J. Dunbar of Bedell St., and Henry N. Rosenkranz of Richmond Hill were married in Brooklyn on the Fourth of July, after which a wedding supper was served at the home of the bride's aunt, Mrs. Alexander Austin, Eldert St., Brooklyn. Miss May Dun¬ bar, sister of the bride, was maid of honor and the groom was accompanied by his cousin, Henry Rosenkranz. The costume of the bride was white with a bouquet of white rosea, and the maid, wearinjr a gown of pink, carried pink carnations. The young married couple have gone on a two weeks' honeymoon trip to Basking Ridge, N. J., and on their return will reside in Brooklyn.
