Through the settlement of claims for damage the story of two strange lires of which no report was made and no alarm sent in, is noted. One was in a Uedri'om in the home of Mrs. D. De Roth on West Side Avenoe and the other was in the home of Mrs. U. Fraleigh on Centre Street. Both of them were unusual, Mrs DeRoth was in the room in which the lire occurred and did not know of the fire ontil she awakened.
According to .Mr. Lucb*, Mrs. De Roth was asleep in her bed wlu'ii througii some unknown means the bed clothes cnugbt lire.
