At the meeting of the Board of Fire Commis¬ sioners Friday evening several firemen from various companies were present, and one of the trustees asked if the 'jihones were any good and the lire lad¬ dies fell all over each other in their etforta to say a good word for the cen¬ tral operator.s. They said they did not have to ask where a fire was when taking oif the receiver—just ring the bell and they were told concisely where the alarm was sent from.
On Sunday afternoon, Sept. 8, at 4:15 p. m.. Rev. A. S. Lofgren, jiastor of Inimanuel Church, Brooklyn, will hold H servico for Llie Swedish jieople in our community.. It is understood that there are nearly sixty of them in this community and the Otlicial Board of the M. E. Church very kindly placed the use of the Church at the disposal of the Pastor for this service. He hoped to arrange for such a service for every Sunday afternoon in September but was unable to arr^ge for the 1st. It is hoped however that for at least four Sundays consecutively such a ser¬ vice can be held. "Wte entire service wlil be in Swedish and a most cordial invitation is extended to all who under- 8tand this language to be present.
