The magnet that has drawn him back into the autnniobile maeUtrnm is the new Moiarch eight-cylinder car, about whi:h there has been considerable sec¬ recy. It is built by the .Monarch Mot¬ or t'ornpany of Detroit, of which R, (". Hupp is president. Several New York financiers are back of the company and on the directorate.
Five thousand eights will be built this season, and Forbes says the first 125 cars will be ready for delivery in .lune. A vigorous selling campaign, which will be hacked with strong ad¬ vertising, has been started. The car will be a seven-passenger model with 125-inch wheel base and will retail at $1500.
Mr. Forbes is vice president and di¬ rector of sales nf the ' Monarch Motor Company and will have control of the distribution of the product throughout the United States. He is bosy allot- ting territcry right now. — World.

I'welve auiu dris .Ts were arrested for viclating the speed ordinances; all but one pleading guilty when arraigned before Police Justice Flint. The one who declined to acknowledge guilt was James Gordon, of Brooklyn. He claimed his atrest an outrage and de¬ cided to fight the case. Mr. Gordon deposited cash bail for his appearance at trial.
The others who pleaded guilty and the amount of the fines tbey paid to help enlarge the village treasury were: Arthur McDermott, |5; Beverly Jones, $5; Harry Thurston, $5; Stanley Sweet, $5; James J. O'Hara, $10; Henry Engel. $1; Archibald J. Connor, $6; Julius Celain, %f>; Frank Heath* coet. $6; Edward F. Keating, S5, and John Leighton, $10.
Capt. Dsrenberg arrested Charle.<4 Ebert for violating the traffic ordin¬ ance. Ebert insisted in trying to cut corners. He tried to explain the law lo tbe captain, and the captain con¬ ducted him before Justice Flint, who admonished Ebert and relieved biro of $3.
