A large and enthusiastic meeting of the Presbyterian Church Improve¬ ment Society was held at the residence of Mrs. J. W. Holbrow Wednesday. It was decided to hold an apron, cake and cream sale in the Chapel May 15, afternoon and evening, and in the late Pall to hold a Housekeepers' Sale.
A special meeting of the Society will be held at the residence of Mrs. Sidney H. Swezey , 20 Lexington Ave¬ nue, next Wednesday, at 1:30 p. m.
Mrs. Jane Pearsall, widow of Dti- ^j0t Pearsall, died early Monday morn¬ mg, after a brief illne.ss, of paralysis. Funeral services were held in the M. E. Church, of which the deceased had been a member since its organization, Wednesday afternoon. Rev. D. A. Jor¬ dan and Wm. S. Hall officiating; inter¬ ment in Greenfield Cemetery. Mrs. Pearsall was seventy-seven years of age and is .survived by two sons, Wes¬ ley and Francis Pearsall, both of this village, and three daughters, Mrs. Henry E. Rider, Mrs. James R. Smith and Mrs. Timothy Sheehan, all of this village.

The regular jfLadies' Night of the Freeport Club Wednesday evening was thoroughly enjoyed by a number of the Club members and their friends.
Next Wednesday evening a subscrip¬ tion dance is to be held, which promis¬ es to be the best held.
The Freeport Choral Society will give the second concert of the present season Tuesday evening, April 30, in the M. E. Church. The program will consist mainly of Hayden's celebrated oratorio "I'reation" and will be ren¬ dered by a chorus tif 70 voices and an orchestra of 15 pieces.
The .society has engagetl Miss Flor¬ ence Ilimple, soprano soloist of the West Entl (Collegiate (Church, New York, and W. R. Wheeler, tentir .solti- ist, of the same church, al.so Prof. Magnus Schuby, bass soloist of the First Presbyterian ('hurch, Yonkers. The orchestra •^'xW be under the leader¬ ship of Mr. S. G. Lambert of New York City and several of the players in the orchestra will be from the Man¬ hattan and Metropolitan Opera Houses. Mra. Gl. T. VanRiper will preside at the pipe organ and Mrs. Powell, pian- iate of the Society, at the piano. Prof. A. Palamountain, M. S. V., will con¬ duct.
The performance of this beautiful work should be unit^ue and give great pleasure to those who attend. After this concert neiw members can be enrolled for the third concert, in May. George Bennett Smith, automobile dealer, has sold Ford autos to Whitney VanWicklen and Vandewater Post. He has also sold a large Logan Construc¬ tion Co. delivery car to C. A. Fulton, which will arrive in a few daya. H. P. Libby has also purchased a Royal Tourist auto, and Mr. Smith is in structing him in its operation.

The Times says a fight is promised over the will of George A. Barker, for some time a resident of this village, and that he left an estate valued at about a million dollars. The will, which cuts off Barker's two daughters without a cent and leaves all to the widow, has been admitted to probate in New York County, but the daugh¬ ters announce they will fight its provi¬ sions. The widow was formerly Miss Edith M. Tetu, a Canadian,and was his second wife.

The first in the village, is the gran¬ itoid sidewalk that is being laid in front of H. M. (Covert's new store on the Merrick Road, and certainly em¬ phasizes the fact that Seaford is no longer one of the so-called sleepy ham¬ lets of the South Side, but one of the active villages. Mr. Covert's store is one of the finest to be seen along the road, and is indeed a credit to the plaee. \

Mrs. Thomas Wright died very sud¬ denly last week while at lunch, death being due to old age. She is .survived by one son, Thomas Wright, of this place. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon.
The Phoenix Realty Company, re¬ cently organized, has purchased the property of Albert Valentine, for the purpose of development. A. Palermo is president of the Company, Chas. Si¬ monson vice-president and Francis J. O'Brien Treasurer and offices are in Brooklyn and New York.

An interesting meeting of the Lyn¬ brook Club was held Thursday evening at which the toj)ic of establishing a lighting system was discussed. Mr. Macy, President, and Mr. Shari). Gen¬ eral Manager, of the Queens Borough Gas and Electric Co., of Far Rocka¬ way, spoke at length ujion the atlvisa- bility of establishing the same. They gave an outline of the estimated cost of maintaining the same, and other important matters, all of which prov- etl very interesting. The Town of Hempstead Horseshoers' Association A large and enthusiastic meeting of the Presbyterian Church Improve¬ ment Society was held at the residence of Mrs. J. W. Holbrow Wednesday. It was decided to hold an apron, cake and cream sale in the Chapel May 15, afternoon and evening, and in the late Pall to hold a Housekeepers' Sale. A special meeting of the Society will be held at the residence of Mrs. Sidney H. Swezey , 20 Lexington Ave¬ nue, next Wednesday, at 1:30 p. m. Mrs. Jane Pearsall, widow of Dti- ^j0t Pearsall, died early Monday morn¬ mg, after a brief illne.ss, of paralysis. Funeral services were held in the M. E. Church, of which the deceased had been a member since its organization, Wednesday afternoon. Rev. D. A. Jor¬ dan and Wm. S. Hall officiating; inter¬ ment in Greenfield Cemetery. Mrs. Pearsall was seventy-seven years of age and is .survived by two sons, Wes¬ ley and Francis Pearsall, both of this village, and three daughters, Mrs. Henry E. Rider, Mrs. James R. Smith and Mrs. Timothy Sheehan, all of this village.
