Hundreds of residents flocked to downtown Bethpage to be a part of what
has become a true holiday tradition in our community. The Bethpage Chamber
of Commerce Holiday Lighting Ceremony was nothing short of spectacular
this year! A few new treats were added to this festive community night and it
couldn't have turned out better.
The evening began with a words from Chamber President Gary Bretton
who welcomed everyone to this special event. Legislator Ed Mangano went on
to wish everyone a happy and healthy holiday and then introduced TOB
Supervisor John Venditto who commended the town of Bethpage for their
community spirit. Also on hand from the Town of Oyster Bay were,
Councilpersons, Rose Walker and Joe Muscarella as well as James Stefanich
Receiver of Taxes.
Pastor Kiesel from St. Paul's Lutheran Church and Father Henry of St.
Martin of Tours Church spoke to the crowd as to the meaning of this special
holiday and wished everyone a holiday filled with blessings. Pastor Stuppiello
of Spirit and Truth Church also addressed the crowd and wished everyone a
wonderful holiday season. Everyone sang along with the St. Paul's Junior
Choir as they treated the crowd to a wonderful rendition of Silent Night.
It was then time to light our majestic menorah and this year the Chamber
as well as the entire community was saddened at the closing of the Bethpage
Jewish Center. Congregants of the Bethpage Jewish Center have merged with
the Midway Jewish Center and the Chamber was (Continued on page 17)

Santa's workshop made its debut compliments of the Bethpage Junior Fin
Fighters and leader Frank Ceglio.
Santa arrived in true style!
