Officer "Buteh" Gilrain Celebrates 35th Anniversary
Legislator Ed Mangano presented Officer "Butch" with a citation from
Nassau County commemorating his 35 years of service to the Nassau
County Police Department.
The entire "gang" at Bretton's Deli was on hand to pay tribute to their
"TOP COP" Butch Gilrain!
On January 15, 2006 Police Officer Larry "Butch" Gilrain was honored
by Nassau County Legislator Edward Mangano for his impressive thirty five
record of service as a Nassau County Police Officer here in Bethpage. It is
safe to say that everyone in our community knows Butch's friendly face as
he has been making sure that Bethpage is a safe community for three and
one half decades.
Although, through the years, Butch has had many responsibilities in the
precinct in Bethpage many know him as the official starting car for the St.
Patrick's Day Parade as well as Santa's official driver for the Bretton's
Benefit Bowl.
Officer Gilrain has insured that Bethpage is a wonderful place to live
work and raise our families through his commitment and dedication to serving
the law. He is a true professional and we are truly lucky to have him as
our community police officer.
This by no means signifies that Butch is planning on retiring any time
soon and that is a true blessing to our community as life in Bethpage would
certainly not be the same without his friendly face.
We congratulate Police Officer Larry "Butch" Gilrain on this momentous
accomplishment and we thank him for all that he has done to make our community
such a safe and special place to live. To all of us here in Bethpage
you are our TOP COP and we salute you on your 35th anniversary as one of
Nassau County's FINEST!!!
