Central Boulevard Students Steal the Show
With "Who Stole the North Pole"
It was with great pride and showmanship
that Central Boulevard Elementary
School's Theater Club presented the
musical play "Who Stole the North
Pole.'' The after-school theater club is
comprised of 5th graders and is advised
by school music teacher Amy McGrath.
The talented cast and crew members
produced four masterful performances for
their peers, family and friends. Students
costumed in green, gold and glitter took
to the stage in song and dance, performing
the original musical play written by
William L. McGrath.
"The show is incredible. It is funny,
interesting and well delivered," commented
Central Boulevard Elementary
School Principal Steven Furrey. "These
students sacrificed their afternoons and
weekends for extra rehearsals and it
shows. They did an tremendous job presenting
a professional quality production,
making us all proud."
Produced and Directed by Mrs.
McGrath, the 45 minute production featured
two lead casts alternating performances,
and an ensemble chorus.

Celebrates Cultures in Concert

her recent concert performance BIG IDEAS for the Holidays at the school. (Photo by Kris Melvin-Denenberg,

Charles Campagne Elementary
School closed out the year with Patricia
Shih and her "Big Ideas for the
Holidays." The PTA sponsored concert
was a perfect year-end celebration for
students and staff alike to learn more
about the cultural traditions and history
of Chanukah, Christmas, and Kwanzaa.
Sign language, song and student participation
made the show a crowd pleas-er.
Ms. Shih kept the audience's interest
with a well-balanced mix of explanation
and entertainment. Students sang
along to traditional favorites such as the
"12 Days of Christmas" and "Cum H- u
Yah." With the help of small electric
candles, several students also had the
opportunity to be part of a living
Menorah as Ms. Shih sang an original
song about the Festival of Lights. The
concert was a perfect send off for the
holiday season.
