Bethpage Fire Departent Responds to
Fire at Bethpage High School
On July 22 at approximately 2:00am the Bethpage Fire Department
responded to a report of a fire at Bethpage High School. Arriving units
found a heavy smoke conditio)] in the school and firefighters found a fire in
a utility closet thai was quickly extinguished stopping it from spreading further.
The Hicksville Fire Department was also called to the scene with their

Traffic Light Blown to Ground
A traffic signed was blown to the ground by strong winds Wednesday
evening at the Charles Campagne Elementary School and the Seaford
Oyster Bay Expressway. Nassau County Police Department 8th Precinct

The Bethpage Blue bombers U12 boys travel soccer team finished in 1st
place for the Spring 2008 season. Their record was 6-2-1 which placed them on
top of their division. They had to defeat Farmingdale on the last day of the season
to overtake them for first place. The Blue Bombers trailed 1-0- at halftime,
but rallied for 3 goals in the 2nd half for a 3-1 victory and sole possession oi^
first place. Congratulations to all the Blue bombers for a great season. Bethpage
will move up a division for the Fall season.
Historical Society Visits Legislature
Legislator Ed Mangano (2nd from left) joined the Central Park Historical
Society of Bethpage during a tour of the refurbished Theodore Roosevelt
Executive Building. The Theodore Roosevelt Executive Building is located at
1550 Franklin Avenue in Mineola and was recently restored to its original condition.
It is home to the Nassau County Legislature and was as Count]'
Executive. Pictured from 1-r are Mary Jane Peudl, Legislator Mangano, Central
Park Historical Society President Lenny Mulcjueen, Carmine DeStefano, Bob
Albertson, Ann ALberlson, George Hoban, Cas Procida, Eleanor Hoban, Bella
Proeida, Audrey Tollman and Ester DeStefano.
