Lt. Robert Morris
Welcome home to Lt. Robert Morris, US Army First Cavalry stationed in Fort
Hood Texas. He has been in Iraq since October 2006 and finally came come
(back to Texas). We thank him for his dedication and service to our country
and are thrilled to have him home! God Bless you!

Opens In Hicksville
Oyster Bay Town CouncilmanRose Walker (center) recently attended the US
Army Hicksville Recruitment Station Grand Opening at Delco Plaza in
Hicksville. Also attending from left to rith were Christy Gaunt (Staff
Sergeant), Jacques Blemus (Staff Sergeant), Richard Hills (Sergeant), Tony
Perez (Staff Sergeant), Police Officer Paul Lamonaca (NCPD/8th Precinct),
Police Officer DAvid Rysdyk (NCPD/8th Precinct), Police Officer Andy
French (NCPD/8th Precinct), Patrick Yngstrom (Nassau Deputy Director of
Veterans Affaris and Peter Fedorka (Sergeant/GI Johnny).

Receiver Stefanich Reminds Residents
Assessment Grievance Period Ends
March 3rd
Oyster Bay Receiver of Taxes James J. Stefanich reminds taxpayers that
they have the right to challenge their latest Property Tax Assessment.
"Grievances may be filed with the Nassau County Assessment Review
Commission during the 'grievance period,' occurring January 2 to March 3,
2008," Receiver Stefanich stated. "During this period, taxpayers may examine
the assessment rolls and obtain grievance application Form AR1 at the Nassau
County Assessment Review Commission, 240 Old Country Road, Mineola NY.
To receive an application in the mail, or receive assistance over the phone, the
Assessment Review Commission may be contacted at 571-2391. Assistance to
taxpayers will also be provided at a help desk on the 3rd Floor of 240 Old
Country Road."
Receiver Stefanich noted that the application forms and information are
also available at local public libraries and on the Assessment Review
Commission's page of the County's Web site at
http://www.nassaucountyny.gov/agencies/ARC/forms.html. In addition,
Receiver Stefanich has obtained a limited supply of applications and has made
them available at his office located at 74 Audrey Avenue, Oyster Bay, NY
11771 (624-6400).
Receiver Stefanich added, "Any taxpayer who believes an error has been
made regarding their property assessment should take advantage of this oppc.
tunity to establish a correct and fair assessment value for their home."
