Traffic Light Installed on
Stewart Avenue and Beverly Road
/// conjunction with the Mentoring Partnership of Long Island, New Media
Printing and the Bethpage Tribune participated in Teens on the Job '06 -
Long Island Shadow Day. The Tribune was elated to have Rhianna
Hercules and Rebecca Ragusa, tenth graders at Scared Heart Academy in
Hempstead spend the day helping to put together the Bethpage Tribune.
Both girls are interested in the field of journalism and from the looks of
their talent and enthusiasm we are sure they will succeed in whatever career
path they choose. Special thanks to Rhianna and Rebecca for all the hard
work!
After many letters and many years we are pleased to report that a traffic
light has been installed at the corner of Beverly Road and Stewart Avenue
as part of a project designed to make various safety changes and imporve-ments
to Stewart Avenue. Crosswalk stripes have also been painted at this
intersection and permanent speed signs are also slated to be installed along
the roadway which sadly has been plagued with many accidents and fatli-ties.
