Veterans Remembered and Honored
An impressive amount of Veterans attended Bethpage's annual Veteran's Day ceremony which was held at Rotary Circle.
Wreaths were presented as a way of memorializing the sacrifices Veterans
here in Bethpage and across this country have made for our freedom and
the country they love.
On Saturday November 11 at 1 lam residents came out to pay tribute to
Veterans as part of Bethpage's Annual Veteran's Day ceremonies. Veterans
from all branches of the military came out to honor those that sadly did not
return home, giving the ultimate sacrifice for their country. Wreaths were
placed in the center of Rotary Circle and a 21 gun salute was heard to
memorialize those brave men and women who so selfishly gave of them-
Veterans prepare for the 21 gun salute
selves so that we all can enjoy the freedoms that we cherish today. Nassau
County Legislator Ed Mangano was on hand to thank all Veterans as well as their
families who gave of themselves and reminded people to understand that freedom
is not free. It wasn't them and it isn't now. "Our Veterans are true heroes. We
owe a tremendous amount of respect and thanks to each and every one of them
and above all we must never forget their sacrifices, " said Mangano
