By Linda Mangano
People helping people,
isn't that what it is all about?
Lending a hand, helping out
someone in need, performing a
service that otherwise could not be
completed, are all ways to make a
huge difference in the lives of other
people. Well, this Father's Day, two
very special Bethpage Dads did just
that. Walter Drobecker and Al
Regateiro decided to answer the
call of a fellow Bethpage resident in
need. These two dedicated gents
replaced a complete water main
from a resident's house to the
street. This huge endeavor would
cost approximately $1800 but
Walter and Al did not charge this
resident one penny. They made the
repair because they wanted to help
out a person they knew needed
assistance and because these two
guys have great big giving hearts.
"We wanted to give back to the
community, that's the way it should
be, people helping out when they
can." said Regateiro who operates
A.J. Regateiro Construction.
Walter Drobecker, of Drobecker
Plumbing agreed with Regateiro
stating that "I am always willing to
lend a hand when asked. It is a great
feeling to be able to help someone
in need."
These two gentleman deserve
our thanks and praise for giving up
their time and effort to help another
person in need. In a time when life is
so busy for everyone and when
individual priorities and pressures
can consume our everyday lives
Walter and Al proved that giving is
perhaps The bez* ~~Hlnne for us all.
Thank you again to Walter and Al,
Bethp.
