Varsity Awards Ceremony
Oyster Bay Town Councilwoman Mary A. McCaffery recently
attended the Bethpage High School Dad's Club Varsity Awards
Ceremony where she presented Matthew Stephan with the
Scholar Athlete Award. On hand (left to right) were Bethpage
High School Athletic Director John Franchi, Nassau County
Legislator Ed Mangano, Matthew Stephan, Bethpage High
School Principal John T. Tomaso, and Councilwoman
McCaffery.
Reach For the Stars
Teen Talent Search
Teenage artists in every field of
entertainment are invited to apply to
audition for Long Island's fabulous
Teen Talent Search: "Reach for the
Stars," announced Nassau County
Executive Thomas R. Suozzi.
Solo and group performers in the
following categories are invited to
apply:
Dance: Classical, Modern, Jazz,
Tap, Hip-Hop, Break, Ballroom,
Ethnic/Folk
Vocal: Classical, Pop, Broadway
Show Tunes
Instrumental: Classical, Pop,
Broadway Show Tunes
Comedy and Magic.
All applications must be
accompanied by a video tape, CD or
cassette and photo of performance
and must be received on or before
June 30, 2004, 3:00 p.m. at:
Performing Arts Unit, Admin.
Building, Eisenhower Park, East
Meadow NY 11554. Applicants must
be 13 to 19 years of age at show
time, August 30, 2004. Separate
applications are required for each
category, style and solo/group
submission. Each group member
must submit a separate applications,
but all applications must be
submitted together. Audition
placement will be made based on
review of performance video, CD or
cassette. Auditions will begin on
July 13,2004.
Applications are available at all
Nassau County parks, museums and
libraries or may be requested by
calling 516-572-0200. The "Reach
for the Stars Teen Talent Search" is
sponsored by the Nassau County
Department of Parks, Recreation
and Museums and Canon U.S.A.
Inc.
Rahul Shah Receives
Town of Oyster Bay
Leadership and Service Award
Oyster Bay Town Councilwoman Mary A. McCaffery recently
attended Bethpage High School to present the Town of Oyster
Bay Leadership and Service Award to Rahul Shah.
Plainview-Old Bethpage
Relay For Life
Oyster Bay Town Supervisor John Venditto and
Councilwoman Rose Marie Walker recently attended the
Plainview-Old Bethpage Relay for Life (American Cancer
Society) at Plainview-Old Bethpage Middle School. Walking in
the Relay were Christina Laube, Michelle Luong and Valerie
Hamell. Also pictured are Superintendent Dr. Martin Brooks,
Board Member Jonathan Mosenson and Councilwoman Rose
Marie Walker.
