Legislator Edward Mangano (middle) join with members from
the Norma's school of Dance in ringing in the holidays and
wishing all a very happy and peaceful New Year.
Even the coldest of
temperatures did not keep
Bethpage residents away from
the Annual Chamber of
Commerce Holiday Lighting
Ceremony, which was held on
December 3 in the center of
Town.Hundreds of bundled up
residents took to the streets to be
a part of a long time Bethpage
tradition. Rev. Sal Bennardo,
from the Assembly of God
Church was on hand and
introduced his fabulous choir.
Their voices warmed the coldest
of souls. Pastor Mario Ancira of
St. Paul's Lutheran Church
braved the cold to be a part of

December 8 marked the
fifteenth anniversary of
Bethpage's Bretton's Benefit
Bowl. Each year this game is
held to help those less fortunate
during the holiday season. To
date this wonderful event has
raised nearly half a million
dollars which has certainly a
difference in so many
lives.. .right here in our
community.
This year the Bretton
Bombers joined forces with B.K.
Sweeney's and challenged the
PAL coaches. It is safe to say
that the experience of the
Bretton's/BK Sweeney team just
could not be matched. Although
the PAL coaches were quite
impressive the final score of the
game was 13-0 with the
Bretton/Sweeney team coming
out on top.
Estimates indicate that to date
over $30,000 has been raised this
year and money is still arriving
