King Kullen Named
Retailer of the Year
King Kullen Grocery Coj., headquartered in Bethpage, NY,
was recognized by Business LI, the official publication of the
Long Island Association, a^ "Retailer of the Year" on Long
Island for 2002. Pictured is

Association's official magazine - has
recognized King Kullen Grocery Co.
among Long Island's Top 12
industry leaders. The magazine s
inaugural "Annual Directory of i^ong
Island Businesses" was published
with King Kullen Grocery Co.
selected and profiled as the top
2002-2003 retail company.

King Kullen Grocery Co., a family-operated
company with 47 stores
throughout Nassau and Suffolk
Counties and Staten Island, is
known as "America's First
Supermarket," with founder Miqhael
J. Cullen first introducing the unique
business concept of one-stop
shopping in 1930. Today, King
Kullen Co-chairmen John B. Cullen
and Bernard D. Kennedy carry on
the tradition, and have ensured its
continuation under the day-to-day
leadership of co-presidents J.
Donald Kennedy and Brian C.
Cullen.
According to Business LI editor

annual sales means King Kullen is
one of Long Island's largest private
