Back to School
Schools across Long Island opened their doors to students
last week. The Bethpage School District was no exception.
Here are some scenes from all five of the Bethpage Schools on
opening day.
The Bethpage School District's new teachers for the 2002-
2003 school year as they prepare to board a bus for a tour of
the community, led by Director of Technology Terry Clark
(pictured far right). Also pictured here is Director of Personnel
Caroline Lavelle (second from the right).
Miss Difino welcomes her first grade students on the first
day of classes at Central Boulevard Elementary School.
Bethpage High School freshmen take a tour of their new
school just prior to the start of 2002-03 school year.

Prior to the start of the 2002-03
school year, the Bethpage School District
conducted a new teacher orientation at
Bethpage High School on August 28..This
year, tne district welcomes 15 new
teachers.
The new teachers were treated to
breakfast and a bus tour of the
community, led by Director of Technology
Terry Clark. Prior to the tour, Assistant
Superintendent for Instruction Dr. Richard
Marsh and Director of Personnel Caroline
Lavelle gave teachers an overview of the
district. Dr. Marsh informed teachers of
the many productive and helpful staff
development opportunities available in
Bethpage. Curriculum department
directors spoke about programs pertaining
to their respective disciplines. The new
teachers also met with their respective
building principals and began planning
