Next weekend the usually car
filled parking lot adjacent to the
Long Island Rail road will be
transformed into a playground of
fun for the young and young at
heart. That's right...the
Bethpage Chamber of
Commerce Summer Festival
that is taking place on August 9
and 10 from 6pm to midnight
This labor of love has turned into
a tradition that the Bethpage
Chamber of Commerce feels is a
true tribute to Bethpage and its
residents. However, this year the
generosity of Bethpage business
owners and merchants in
sponsoring the festival has been
truly overwhelming. Special
thanks and sincere gratitude
must be given to the Festival's
2002 sponsors Cablevision,
Northrop Grumman, Bank of
New York, King Kullen,
Bethpage Federal Credit Union,
B.K. Sweeney's, New Island
Hospital, Citibank and Fleet
Bank. These businesses have
been instrumental in getting this
festival underway and helping to
defray the ever-mounting costs of
putting on this two day
extravaganza and they deserve
our appreciation and support.
This year the Festival is offering
a $20 pay- one- price bracelet as
well as individual tickets for sale.
Each bracelet, however, will be
good for a one-day admission
and cannot be used again on the
second night. BE SURE TO

this project. They are Gary

This year's festival promises
to be bigger and better than ever
before. As always Newton and
Sons Midway and Amusements
provides the Chamber with new
rides each year as well as
entertaining games and vendor
booths. This year they have
added more rides for your
enjoyment. There will be food for
every imaginable appetite as well
as a place for you to sit back and
rest your tired feet for a moment.
The Chamber is said to even
have a few surprises up their
sleeves and who knows who we 11
see entertaining the crowd.
Spectators may even have a
chance to grab a mike and sing
along. As always the Chamber
will be featuring over 25 vendor
booths offering information,
