Sublime Design Making Their Mark
With Some Incubator Assistance

Briarcliffe College is the home of
the Tech incubator that nurtures and
warms "fledgling" Internet
companies until they can leave the
nest and fly on their own. What a
groundbreaking concept! One such
company, Sublime Design, Inc., a
five-year-old Web design company is
ready to spread its wings and move
into a larger nest in the incubator.
The idea for the incubator was
hatched in 1999 by former Briarcliffe
President, Rich Turan with the help
of Peter Goldsmith, chairman of
LISTnet. The first tenants were
moving in as the new millennium
began. Sublime Design, Inc. (SDI)
was one of the first to move into this
unique cocoon. The Long Island
High Technology Incubator at
Briarcliffe College is focused on
developing the software industry on
Long Island. Its purpose is to
provide a sheltered environment for
new/relatively new companies at that
stage in their development when
they are most vulnerable. To assist
these new companies, space is
provided at lower than current
market rates. Access to shared
resources and college faculty as well
as support from the business
community, government, and others
interested in the economic
development of Long Island help
form this protective environment.
The goal of the Incubator is to
nurture young companies so that
they will be strong enough to add to
the economic growth of Long Island
by providing employment
opportunities to others.
Sublime Design, Inc., often
referred to as SDI, was established
in early 1996, is a technology firm
offering complete Internet solutions
for businesses and organizations
around the world since 1996. Using
the latest proven web innovations
and technologies, such as
ColdFusion programming, Sublime
Design helps companies and
organizations establish an Internet
presence, connect to millions of new
customers, and provide current
customers with new ways to access
information.
To quote President Jason
Burenski, "Our goal is to create
