We would like to thank Patty
Prehm of Bethpage, for her
assistance in fund raising for the
remembrance of the passengers
aboard TWA flight 800. Patty, a
member of the Stony Brook
University swim team, assisted Tom
Gallagher in a challenging 62 mile
swim on the south shore. The swim
began at JFK, where flight 800
originated, to Center Moriches where
the fatal crash occurred July 17,
1996. Strong currents and weather
conditions did not deter their efforts.
Patty and Tom's fund raising efforts
have made it possible to have a
permanent memorial erected for the
deceased at Smith Point Park, N.Y.
Chamber to Host Casino Cruise to Benefit Community
There is nothing quite like an afternoon out on the ocean. Nothing seems more relaxing or enjoyable. Well
the Bethpage Chamber of Commerce has a boating trip planned that will allow you to feel the relaxing effects
the ocean and the sizzling thrilling rush of casino gambling fun. On September 17 the Bethpage Chamber of
Commerce will be hosting their first ever Casino Boat Cruise. This event is being held as a fundraiser for the
Chamber of Commerce and monies raised will be used to erect street banners, benches and flower planters
throughout town. Funds raised have been earmarked to beautify our local area which in turn, the Chamber
feels, will benefit local merchants. The cruise will be held aboard the Majesty Cruise Ship and will feature
gambling fun as well as entertainment and a buffet lunch. The ship will be leaving Freeport at 12 Noon althoui
it is suggested that those attending this fun filled afternoon event should arrive by 11:00am to check in. The
cost is being offered at an incredibly low price of just $35 per person and tickets are going fast. If you are
