1999 Gamp Champs
The Bethpage Varsity
Cheerleaders proved they are going
to be a force to reckon with this
upcoming competition season. The
Bethpage Varsity Cheerleaders
came home with 3 trophies from
Pine Forest Cheerleading Camp.
Over 40 teams from Ohio,
Maryland, New Jersey., Conn.,
Pennsylvania, New York (upstate)
and Long Island came to camp to
learn new routines and compete for
ribbons and trophies. Our town's
Varsity squad showed all the rest
their Bethpage Pride. The girls
placed 2nd in the Dance
Competition with an awesome
dance they brought to camp. They
received another trophy for being
Superior all week long. The best
and -.biggest trophy was for Camp
Champ in the Cheer Category. This
trophy was by far the most special.
No other Bethpage Cheerleading
team has won this trophy before.
The girls worked very hard for this
trophy and were psyched when they
won.
Also, the girls set another record
at camp. The Varsity squad had 6
girls receive All-Star nominations.
These girls were: Diana Tur, Jocelyn
Pizarro, Crystal Velez, Kaitlin
Gregory, Deanna Valente, and
Victoria Peters. This was the most
ever picked from the Bethpage
squad. Also, this was the most All-
Stars from any team at camp.
