VIETNAM VETERANS
PARADE WITH.PRIDE
Audrey Profita, a senior at
Bethpage School, will be attending
the New York Restaurant School in
Manhattan this fall. Audrey will be
pursuing a two-year culinary
arts/restaurant management program
leading to a degree. She has
completed two years of culinary arts
at BOCES where she was named
Student of the Month during September,
1998 and was awarded a
trophy in a baking competition.
When asked how she developed an
interest in cooking at an early age,
she jokingly replied, "It started with
my Easy Bake Oven." As a professional
chef, she eventually plans to
have her own catering business and
teach. Congratulations, Audrey.

The Vietnam Veterans of America, Nassau County Chapter #82,
proudly carry the colors down Central Avenue at the start of the 8th
annual Bethpage St. Patrick's Parade.
Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter President Stan Kuchlewski
meets with Mary McCaffery, President of the Parade Committee.
President Stan said, "The people of Bethpage have always welcomed
and treated us well. It is pleasure and honor for us to participate in
your community event such as this parade and we look forward to
future invitations."
The Suffolk County Emerald Society Pipes and Drums play as the
colors are presented for the pledge of allegiance and the national
apthem. . , ,

Amanda Wing, of Bethpage,
capture a silver medal on the balance
beam at a USA Gymnastics
level six sectional meet. The meet
was held on March 14, 1999.
Amanda's score was 9.1, with an
overall score of 32.025. Amanda
Wing trains at Mid Island Gymnastics
Hicksville, New York.
Congratulations to the St. Martin
of Tours Boys 7th Grade Basketball
Team for capturing the
Nassau - Suffolk title. The team
capped off an immensely successful
1 5 - 1 season with a 55 -
45 victory over St. Boniface of
Elmont in a game that was played
at Babylon High School. St. Martin
broke open a close game midway
through the 3rd quarter with an 8-0
run as used a stifling 1 - 3 - 1 zone
press to defeat a taller, talented
St. Boniface team.
Throughout the year the boys
responded to every challenge and
in their 4th year of playing together
claimed this prestigious
prize. Congratulations to Tyler
Ruthizer, Ryan Kuhlman, Tommy
Michaelson Matt Rubin, Ryan
Gregory, Joey Secchio, Jordan
Levine, Richie Festante, Trevor
Michaelson, Mukul Pujhala and
coach Joe Secchio. Great job
