SERVING BETHPAGE, ISLAND TREES, OLD BETHPAGE, PLAINVIEW, SEAFORD AND PLAINEDGE
I VOL 41 NO. 11
i
March 14-20, 2003
United in Sorrow
There really are
no words to
describe the
tragedy that
occurred in
Bethpage on
Sunday, March 9.
We have read all
the news articles
and seen all the
television coverage
of this horrible car
accident, yet this
tragedy just seems
too devastating to
comprehend. As a
community we see
the loss of Anthony
D Amico and Marc
Khan as shattering.
Two young men
with their entire
lives ahead of them.
Lives filled with
promise and hope,
now tragically lost.
As parents we can
only imagine the
suffering that these
families are
enduring and we
pray with all our
hearts and might
that they will be
given strength for
the days and
months ahead. No
parent should ever
have to lose a child.
It is just not the way
it is supposed to be.
There are no words
of sympathy that
could ever be
expressed to these
families that would
ever ease their
sorrow and pain.
We hope that they
realize however
that an entire
community stands
with them, with
arms and hearts
opened wide to
offer help and
support.
We also pray
deeply for Andrew
Nardone, who, as
we went to press, is
fighting so
desperately for his
life. Another young
man whose life is so
full of promise. We
offer the Nardone
family our sincere
hope that Andrew
will be victorious in
his fight and we
also offer them
support in a time
that must be so
extremely difficult.
Our prayers and
thoughts are with
you.
As a community
all we can do is
pray. Pray for the
strength it will take
to endure the pain
of losing someone
so loved and also
for the recovery of
someone who has
been so seriously
injured. We also
offer our thoughts
and prayers to
Joanne Sheridan
and her daughter
Teri-Ann, who were
both injured in this
accident. We wish
them both a full
recovery. We must
offer support and
understanding to
those families and
children who have
been so deeply
effected by this
tragedy and most of
all we need to
remember that as a
community, we
must all band
together to help
mend the lives of
those who are
suffering and
hurtingjthe most.
