BETHPAGE DAY: A DAY TO REMEMBER
If you were not at the Bethpage
Community Park on Saturday, October
3rd you missed a fun filled and
very informative day!! A day when
you are proud to be a Bethpage resident.
BETHPAGE DAY 1998!
I will tell you what you missed: The
PAL football players and cheerleaders,
as well as organizations, political
Leaders, Pastor Berry of St. Paul's
Lutheran Church, and Gary Bretton
proudly marched through town to the
Bethpage Community Park. PAL
celebrated homecoming and the fall
football season with continuous football
games at the park. Here we had
the opportunity to meet Legislator Ed
Mangano, Assemblymen Steven
Labriola and Marc Herbst. The display
of CLASSIC CARS was truly a wonderful
trip back in time to the special
days and events that were awakened
by their presence. The BETHPAGE
FIRE DEPARTMENT took the opportunity
to show and tell the community
about fire safety with a wonderful display
and the operation of the fire apparatus.
Maureen O'Brian shared her
love for dogs with a display and information
on the many roles dogs play in
many lives. We were proud of the appearance
of the USDA BEAGLE
BRIGADE and the very important job
they perform in sniffing out threats to
agriculture coming into our country.
ST. MARTINS OF TOURS
CATHOLIC CHURCH made their presents
known with balloons, many
hand outs, pictures for children to
color and prizes. The VFW, seeking
new members, are there to remind us
of the men and women who gave so
much for our country so we can celebrate
and live in freedom. The
BETHPAGE WATER DISTRICT with
display and hand outs to tell how they
achieve and maintain the high standards
of water for the Bethpage
Community. Bryant Kaplan, representing
PEOPLE, continues to make
the community aware of drug and alcohol
abuse and counseling services
available. INCHES-A weigh, John De-bolbis
WATER TREATMENT
DISPLAYS, BETHPAGE HEALTH
AND RELAXATION CENTER,
SUGAR CONTROL CENTER all come
to share their expertise on ways to live
healthy. All are located in the Bethpage
area. Ed Mangano provided the
opportunity to have your child's picture
taken by the KIDS PIX. Annette
Marks had a beautiful display of jewelry,
gift albums and water filtration
systems. Represented was the
BETHPAGE CO-OP NURSERY
SCHOOL, LADIES AUXILIARY OF
THE BETHPAGE FIRE
DEPARTMENT, CUB PACK 59, BOY
SCOUT TROOP #46 and Dr. Lembo

COUNCIL a great showing by the
many people who make our community
work. We welcomed UNIQUE
IMPRESSIONS with their embroidery
items and American Girl items. MARY
K representatives, Peggy Hughes
and Deborah Brusca showed us how
to look more attractive with a great
quality product. Jeanne Giorganson
reminded us Christmas is right around
the corner with a beautiful display of
CHRISTMAS AROUND THE WORLD.
Local residents came out to celebrate
the day, crafts by Betty Suhr and
friends, white elephants by Marvin
and Lenore Jaffe, wonderful toys always
a treat for the children, thanks

display not only enjoyed by the
young, but by those who have never
out grown their love of trains! We
