Then - January 3, 1948 Now - August 23, 1997
Carmela (Millie) Finamore and Enrico (Rico)
Carpentiere were married on January 3, 1948 at
St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in
Bethpage, N.Y. A year end snowstorm left about
two feet of snow, which had to be plowed in
order to get to the church for the ceremony.
Not looking for a repeat of bad weather
problems, the Carpentiere children, Joanne,
Ralph and Anthony, gave their parents a
beautiful surprise 50th Anniversary party last
August 23, 1997 at the Belle Terre Community
Center in Port Jefferson, N.Y. Among the 85
family members and friends, there were seven of
the original wedding party often. A memorable
and happy occasion was celebrated by everyone.
Millie and Rico have resided in North Fort
Meyers, Florida for the past twelve years, after
35 years at South First Street in Bethpage.

Mid-Island Hospital's Patients
Are Visited by Caring People
Mid-Island Hospital, an affiliate of Winthrop-University Hospital, was
visited by wonderful volunteers from the Salvation Army. These inspirational
people, personally handed each patient special Holiday Gifts.
An employee of Mid-Island Hospital said "it can be quite difficult to be
a patient in the Hospital during Holiday times, so when caring people
visit with gifts and good cheer, it makes the patients stay a little eas
ier." Mid-Island Hospital truly appreciates the kindness and caring that
the Salvation Army provides each Holiday Season. They help mak|e
this season truly one to celebrate.
