Present Check To
Bretton Bowl Fund
Among the highlights of the
February 17 meeting of the
Plainview-Old Bethpage Road
Runners Club were the presentation
to Gary Bretton of a $2000 check for
the Bretton Bowl Fund for the Needy
Families of Bethpage and the
presentation of a Certificate of
Appreciation by. Gary to the Road
Runners Club's Ed Kovesdy.
The $2000 was turned over to the
Bretton Bowl Fund out of the
proceeds of the Ho Ho Ho Holiday
run, which is held annually on the
streets of Bethpage, and Ed Kovesdy
serves as the Director of that event
for the Road Runners.
"We are very pleased to be able to
use the Ho Ho Ho Run as a vehicle to
support Gary and the wonderful work
he is doing for the Bethpage
community," noted Kovesdy. "The
letter from one of the families he has
helped that appeared in last week's
"Bethpage Tribune" tells the whole
story. Our Club supports Gary's
efforts, and we look forward to raising
even more money in the 11th annual
Ho Ho Ho Holiday 5K Run on
December 19,1998!" .
The J.F.K. Middle School cheerleaders are all smiles after coming in 1st
place at the Riverhead Competition on Jan. 18th and 3rd place at the
competition in North port on Jan. 31 st. These talented girls learned to
work together and reach their goals as a team. This was all made
possible by their coach, Miss Carol Schiebel! Top left: Lauren Festante,
