The weather was anything but
frightful a^ the evening proved quite
delightful.i.and since so many
managed to go...what a
show...wh;at a show...what a show!
The Bethpage community came
together pn December 5th to celebrate
the first evening of Chanukah
as well as| light the Chamber of
Commerce's 30 foot Christmas tree.
AND BOY, OH BOY what a crowd,
and what an event.
Over 700 residents took to the
streets toi celebrate the Holidays
with song, dance and good ol'
fashioned town spirit. The evening
which was hosted by the Chamber
of Commerce included inspirational
words by I Rabbi Seth Gordon of
Bethpage| Community Jewish Center
and a|so by Pastor James Berry
of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
On hand for this yearly Bethpage
tradition were Legislator Edward
Mafigano who addressed the
crowd as well. Cantor Waidenbaum
began the evening with Chanukah
songs an|d the first Chanukah candle
was lit on our 9 foot handmade
Menorahi The Choir from St. Paul's
Lutheran) Church provided beautiful
caroling as well as inspirational
