WOW! A HOLE IN ONE
Pictured here at the "Hole in One Location" are (l-r) Michael Greco Sr.f Legislator Edward Mangano
congratulating Michael Greco Jr. on his 12th hole-126 yard hole in one and Chamber President Dennis Brady.
"I hate golf!" "I hate golf!
Golf, a sport that has become ever so popular and
even somewhat addicting was the sport of the day as
the Bethpage Chamber of Commerce sponsored their
annual Golf Outing on July 22.
The event which was held at the Town of Oyster Bay
Course in Woodbury attracted over 84 golfers who
were eager and ready to begin at the 12 noon Shotgun
start. Each golfer received a hearty breakfast, lunch and
dinner although it seemed golf was more on the minds
of the participants than any of the meals.
Although true golfers do not concern themselves too
much with weather conditions, Mother Nature provided
the "plaid clad" bunch with wonderful weather to test
out the old irons.
Each year the Chamber provides golfers with a
wonderful raffle jam-packed with many prizes, and this
year was no exception as over 80 prizes were raffled off
including a 20" Color TV, Bud Golf Bag, Putters,
sweaters, Walkman and so much more. In addition to
the raffle the Chamber also provides those lucky few
with trophies.
This year, however, something wonderful happened
for the first time at the Chamber Outing A HOLE IN
31 "Nice Shot!" "I love golf!"
ONE. That's right, every golfers dream. The hole in one
occurred at the 12th hole and was shot 126 yards by
Michael Greco, Jr. Mike was shocked himself as well as
elated to have achieved this pretty remarkable feat!
What made this even more special was that his lovely
wife Claire and his father Michael Greco Sr. were on
hand to see Michael receive a special "hole in one"
plaque which actually has a spot built in for that lucky
bail and a beautiful watch donated by Marvin & Sons
Fine Jewelry.
Michael was truly the "closet to the pin" and deserved
this honor as he not only is a wonderful supporter of
the Chamber, but also has participated in the annual
outing since its inception. Oh, and I guess he's a pretty
good golfer...Thanks probably to Michael Sr. who
undoubtably showed him everything he knew about the
game of golfv
The Chamber congratulates Michael on his very
significant achievement and is hoping for a repeat
performance at next year's outing.
See centerfold for all the golfers in action as well as a
list of trophy winners and hole sponsors.
Claire and Mike Greco were all
smiles as Mike holds his plaque
commemorating his hole-in-one.
Mike also received a beautiful
watch from Marvin & Sons Fine
Jewelry.
