5th ANNUAL CI iTTVAL A HUGE SUCCESS
Mother Nature tried but even
she couldn't dampen the spirits of
those in attendance at the 1995
Bethpage Chamber of Commerce
Festival which was held this past
weekend in the Bethpage Train
Station parking lot. Over 20,000
people came to Bethpage during
the two clay extravaganza which
featured -food, rides, * ehtertain-ment,
merchant booths and
yes...FIREWORKS.
The festival began on Friday
evening as residents from Bethpage
as well as neighboring townsj
enjoyed the music of the 2 Plus!
2 Band. This talented group!
played music for every age group
and taste and was absolutely
marvelous. The Chamber also
featured a country and western
line dancing exhibition which was
performed by the Skyliners who,
actually had the crowd dancinc
right along with them. There m

wide array of food and vendor booths which kept'
the huge crowd quite busy, and the wonderful rides
and midway which were provided by Newton and
Sons were in motion all evening long. The Chamber
also provided a wonderful service to all parents
and children by offering Child Identification (KID
PIX) and Fingerprinting FREE of charge. It was a
fun filled and lucky evening for all festival goers
although Ernest Finamore was probably the luckiest
as he was the evenings 50/50 raffle winner and
walked away with $100.
Day two of this Bethpage tradition started out
with a pretty ominous cloud cover which quickly
turned to rain and lasted for almost one hour.
Things may have looked a little bleak, that was.until
^some brave residents decided to ignore the
jramdrops and have some fun. Before you knew it
'*" the rain ended and the people
came...and came...and came until
the festival was at a standing room
only capacity. Saturday night
brought with it the wonderful
music of Music Unlimited and a
