APPLEBEE'S NEW HOME AT
BETHPAGE MARKETSQUARE

Cutting the ribbon for the new eatery were Bethpage community
leaders Edward Mangano, Applebee's district representative,
Councilman Len Kunzig, Harry Settiho, baseball great Joey Sambito,
Applebee's manager Tony Kathreptis, Applebee's district representative
and Commissioner Lou Kunzig.

On Sunday, October 13, Applebee's
Restaurant opened their doors
for a VIP celebration and preview
of its newest restaurant located on
Hicksville Road in the Bethpage
Marketsquare. This new eatery is
part of a chain 400 plus and growing
and provides a family style atmosphere
while also incorporating a bar
and grill theme.
In keeping with a family theme
Applebee's likes to also highlight
the community of which it becomes
a part of as well as seeks out the
town's local heroes. Bethpage is
extremely well represented in the
eatery with a wall dedicated to
baseball great Joey Sambito who is
a product of our town. Also represented
were the towns of Hicksville,
Plainedge and Island Trees with
celebrities Billy Joel and, Eddie
Money.
The event which attracted well
over 250 people began at 3pm and
was a means by which the eatery
could give community members a
preview of their menu as well as a
look at the decor which the restaurant
hopes will depict each community.

NORTHROP GRUMMAN WEEK
DECLARED BY AGLD
The Northrop Grumman Corporation and Adults and Children with
Learning and Developmental Disabilities, Inc. (ACLD) have declared
the week of November 14th as "Northrop Grumman Week." During
the week, Northrop Grumman employees are scheduled to tour ACLD's
new Fay J. Lindner Career and Independent Living Center in Bethpage.
Northrop Grumman Week is being held to recognize the Corporation's
efforts to support the construction of the ACLD Family Complex, located
near Northrop Grumman headquarters on South Oyster Bay Road.
Northrop Grumman recently awarded a $25,000 grant to help establish
the Northrop Grumman Diagnostic and Treatment Center, located
within the ACLD Family Complex.
ACLDls'a nonprofit organization that provides services to individuals
with learning and developmental disabilities. Founded in 1957, the
agency offers a wide array of early childhood, educational, medical,
vocational, residential, recreation and family suport services to nearly
2,000 families in Nassau and Suffolk Counties. For further information,
