'DISCOVERING' WHY THEY LIKE BETHPAGE
CaraCatalano
Bethpage isn't very different from most of the other towns in Long
Island but it is special to me, especially in the summer time. I enjoy
playing Softball and going to the community pool. I play Softball with
P.A.L Many of my friends play on other teams and it's a lot of fun
to play against them.
The Bethpage Community pool is really cool. I like swimming in
the 4 ft. section and doing flips off of the diving boards. What I like
most about the pool is that I know almost everyone there. My friends
come and we swim together. My sister meets her friends there and
my mom meets hers, so it's a great place that makes everybody happy.
One other thjng I like about Bethpage, is the Bethpage Discovery
Program. Making projects in art and experiments in science were a
daily experience. Gym was really cool and a great work-out. Spanish
was fun, we learned colors, numbers, and many new words. In
Photonews, we made a journal about everything that happened in the
program^
This summer we have had a lot of new things. For example, The
Bethpage Discovery Program, which was a lot of fun. The Lunar
Module, at the pool was very exciting. Even Neil Armstrong visited.
The Bethpage Library is starting to look great. I can't wait until it
opens.
The only negative thing I would say about Bethpage in the summer
time is that it goes by too fast!

There are four reasons I like Bethpage in the summer. One is because
Bethpage is gorgeous in the summer. It's a little hectic with people
rushing to get to work and shopping, though it's nothing like the city
with all the pollution, noise, and violence. In other parts it's like a
country town with nice houses, birds chirping, and bees buzzing.
Everywhere you look you see birds chirping, flowers blooming, and
trees growing. They give me a nice feeling inside.
There is also a jot of improvement going on in Bethpage. There
is the construction on the library. There is also the renovation of
Broadway. They are going to put up lamp posts and. make Broadway
look old fashioned. They are also putting up Senior Citizen Housing
on Broadway. Once all this is done, Bethpage is going to really look
nice. It's nice to know that our town is getting better, not worse like
some other places.
Another reason I like Bethpage in the summer is because of how
nice it is at night. All you hear is the stillness of the night, the chirping
of crickets, and a few cars passing by every now and then. In the
city you hear fights, trucks, and cars passing by all the time.
The last reason I like Bethpage is because there are so many things
to do. By that I mean there is Softball, track, the Discovery Program,
the community pool, golf, and lots of other things. I play softball, go
to the Discovery Program, and go to the commuity pool. I also like
to golf. Last year I was in track.
Bethpage is a gorgeous town and I'm so glad I live here. I'd never
live anywhere else.

Bethpage is neat in the summertime. I love to go to the pool in
the summer. The library is also great in Bethpage. They have so many
