On Memorial Day, TOB Town Councilman, Len Kunzig formally dedicated a
memorial to Craig Schultz who passed away at age 22 as a result of an accident.
Craig was a member of the Bethpage Fire Department Engine 4. Standing by
were Mr. & Mrs. Schultz, his brother, Dale and members of Company 4. (Below)
Mrs. Schultz and Craig's brother, Dale admiring the logo in memory of Craig
which was mounted on the Bethpage Fire Department's Engine 9044

Gold Star parents Peter and Mary Henaghan, center, unveil the new
Memorial dedicated to the Bethpage residents who made the supreme
sacrifice during the Vietnam War. The Heneghan's son William is joined
with the other 8 men of Bethpage on a moving Memorial made from
the name rubbings taken by Bethpage High School students '.from the
Vietnam Memorial in Washington D.C. Joining the Heneghans at the
Memorial Day Ceremony are: (left to right) Joe Morreale, V.F.W. Post
#4987, Paul Masi, Vietnam Veterans of America, Nassau County
Chapter #82 and Joan Poppe, American Legion Auxiliary.
Last year the Bethpage High
School'Band under the guidance
of Frederick Cohen, music teacher
went to Washington D.C. As part
of a community service project the
students took tracings of the nine
young men from Bethpage who
lost their lives and whose names
appear on the Vietnam Memorial.
The students were led by drum
major Christine O'Brien and asst.

Vietnam Veterans of America, Nassau County Chapter #82 Members
who participated in the parade and the unveiling ceremony are left
to right: Joe Curatola, Paul Masi, Matt Rufrano and Ron Reardon.
Curatola, in a moving speech to the gathered crowd, thanked the youth
of Bethpage for remembering those who have made the supreme
sacrifice.
